Vegetables are vital to the healthiest diet. They’re packed with minerals, vitamins, and other micronutrients, they fill you up Their high content of fiber assists in the regulation of your digestive system… But truthfully, vegetables aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you get feeling hungry or a mid afternoon snack-attack. For some people, the thought of having to eat their vegetables can be downright stomach turning!

1. Local shopping = fresh

Freshness of the produce plays a significant element in flavor and nutrient content. If it’s not during the harvest season where you live, it’s definitely worth spending a bit extra to get your produce from a premium supermarket to obtain the best high-quality products available. 2. Cut your haul

You’ve got some stunning looking vegetables. But, just like the treadmill in your garage, which is getting dusty, they are useless as long as nothing is done with them. It’s recommended to buy vegetables that are easy to cook (carrot sticks, snapas), but make sure you are taking the time to prepare all the other vegetables when you return from grocery shopping. Cut the peppers into snack size strips chop your kale and cut your onions in dices and store them all in bags made of plastic or Tupperware containers. That way, you don’t need to get out the knife and cutting board each time you cook for a meal. You just need to pull open your fridge and get what you’ll require!

3. It is possible to transform vegetables into candy by using high heat

OK, I exaggerate somewhat, but bear with me. For some reason people trying to shed pounds assume that they should steam their vegetables. While it is fine to steam vegetables for those who prefer them that way, they tend to be overcooked and bland. Why choose to settle for bland when you can make use of the culinary wonders of caramelization by grilling or roasting them instead? 4. You shouldn’t be able to confront vegetables with your face. Hide ’em!

You can hide vegetables in other foods if you aren’t yet in a position to consume a variety of vegetables. Add diced onions and peppers in an egg, add some spinach to your post-workout shake or even some cauliflower rice or cauliflower potatoes, or create an incredibly meaty chili using extra tomatoes, peppers, and onions.

5. Still not getting enough veggies? Take a supplement…
